- The count down has begun….less than 100 days to go !
The F18 Worlds 2017 event is one of the largest in Denmark this year. Already today, there are over 120 registered teams, from over 21 nations. The event is expected to bring over 400 guests from abroad to Vallensbæk sailings club including sailors, trainers, managers, friends and family…..and attract a much higher number of local audience, especially if the weather is warm and sunny as the boats launch from one of the most popular beaches in Copenhagen!
Olivier Bovyn, International F18 Class President has just paid a visit to Vallensbæk Sailing club, and met up with the event committee. “I am confident Vallensbæk sailing club will provide our Class with a top quality event, merging proper and fair sailing with friendly sailor parties, and I am certain success will reward all your efforts and involvement in building up such an important organization”
Vallensbæk sailing club is highly experienced in running events of this magnitude, and will have club member Søren Badestue as Principal Race Officer. Søren is International Race Officer (IRO) since 2009. The Chairman of the jury will be Ewan McEwa, Internationa judge (IJ) since 2001. Vallensbæk sailing club is run 100% by volunteers, and over 80 have already signed to help complete this event in July. Vallensbæk municipal is also greatly involved in hosting the F18 Worlds 2017 in Vallensbæk. The Municipal is busy improving the beach, for easier access for the boats, and improving harbor facilities, for a top quality event.
